Yeah. I'm wearing sunglasses inside....what of it?

So I'm doing my biggest pet peeve and that would be wearing sunglasses inside, but i had to do that to emulate my Audrey Hepburn poster behind me.. so I just had to state that.
Sunglasses & jacket-Forever 21,Skirt H&M, Scarf & Roper boots are my Mom's.
(Oh yeah and not to brag or anything but I had a pretty GREAT hair day(( it's gotten me pretty excited)) any who since Audrey is my style icon I chose to wear something that had her in mind but still gave it a modern twist . But since most people at my school don't know who Audrey Hepburn is, they said I looked like Rachel Berry from Glee. But I don't mind cause I was aiming for 1960's retro, and like Monday , to keep the sweetness from going overboard, I opted for my mom's Roper boots instead of flats. But my favorate part was the cheetah print scarf under the collar of the red jacket, I don't why but i loved it. I felt like I would have fit in perfectly as an extra in Breakfast at Tiffany's ...wel I guess that was a reason why.

P.S. Don't wear sunglasses inside, you'll look like a tool.

Gone With the Wind

UUUGGGGHHHHHH I hate coming back to school after a break cause it's waking up at noonish a week straight then BLAM!!! waking up at 5:45 am. Idon't like it. I don't like it at all.OH and big news I'm taking drivers ed on April 3rd!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!I really need it since I'm a horrible driver( I had a minor parking incedent by ALMOST crashing into the light pole...but my mom is really scary when I'm driving so yeah..Well any who I guess I should start talking about the outfit I wore today...
Top- Nordtrom Rack ,Skirt-Nordstom's, Shoes-These are hand-me-down Dr. Martens but you can find them on
http://www.drmartens.com/ for $110.00 (pretty pricey if you ask me but they last. )

Okay DON'T wear this skirt while riding a bike & on a windy day because those ruffles will fly up like a bird and it's really embarrassing and you have to walk the bike home with your face downcast because NOTHING is wrong with the bike!!!...Well now that my spasm is over I'll explain the outfit..

I like how this outfit fades from girly to edgy starting out with one of spring's top patterns, watercolor floral. It's very frilly and flowy (alliteration!!) , then the skirt is still slightly girly with the cascading ruffles, but darkens with the black. Then my favorite part is the mint condition Dr. Martens that my cousin just had laying around and then gave them to me!! (Cheesy cheer) and in my opinion they make this outfit, because I prefer to add something edgy to a frillyamd girly outfit. And those boots look so much better than flats!!!

See you tomorrow.

DIY Tiiiiiiiiiiime.

I'll put this in in chronological order:
SUNDAY:
Reading March issue of InStyle on "3 Ways to Wear a Yellow Blazer" and LOVED the yellow blazer! Then saw the "great" price of $375. That's how much my retainer costs!!! and I had to pay for half of it since the janitor threw my retainer away during lunch 4 months ago. So I about died when I coughed up my savings of $175.  So I don't think there's any way I'd be able to get my hands on $375 unless I pulled it out of my butt....so I was bummed.

Monday in Spanish:
I thought, "Hey I have golden yellow(that's the color on the box) dye at home, and a beige blazer I never wear!" So for the rest of day I wasn't really paying attention in class because I was thinking of outfits to go with  it.

Monday after school:
Okay so here's the process on how to dye a blazer or any piece of clothing.(It's really easy, and that's coming from me)
  1. Go to Micheal's or some arts & crafts store near you and ask wear the dyes are (enunciate dyes, because the sales clerk thought I said "Where's the guys?"..pretty awkward)
  2. Just a tip of advice, when choosing a dye, I prefer powdered dyes over liquid, because it's faster and gives an overall stronger color. I know this because dying clothing with a powdered dye takes 30 minutes, and with liquid takes 2 hours.
  3. Find a bucket type contraption ( In my case a washed out kitty litter plastic container), and fill in with water
  4. Pour dye into water and stir with a stick or one of those paint stirrer sticks (obviously I know the name of that)
  5. Dunk the piece of clothing, stir for about 10 minutes, then let it soak for about 20.( if your not satisfied with hue of the color, and would like it darker, you can leave it to soak for a little while longer, BUT keep a close eye or it will get too dark, and that's irreverseable
  6. When you're satisfied with the color, take it out and hang it on a hanger OUTSIDE for 2-3 hours, because it's gonna drip dry. And I'm betting that you would rather have dye dripping on grass than carpet.
  7. Take the piece of clothing inside for the night to finish drying.
  8. The next day put it in the washer on the COLD water setting.(to get rid of the smell of the dye)
  9. Hang up and air dry. Again.
  10. Ready to wear!
So I LOVED how my blazer turned out. And a yellow blazer is suprisingly versitile, so I have some pictures of some outfits with my "new" blazer.

BEFORE
This is and $18 blazer from H&M....Not bad compared to $375 huh?

AFTER!!!!!
Outfit #1: Daytime for the weekend

blouse-Old Navy,shorts&belt-clearance rack at Delia's, and my mom's espadrilles
Outfit #2: Preppy with a Twist
I would wear this to school if it wasn't for STUPID dress code! I think the polished sweater, shorts, and oxfords offset the bright color of the blazer.

Sweater&Shorts-Target,Oxfords-Kohl's
Outfit #3: The outfit I'm wearing on the train to Austin tommorrow that I'm really extited to wear.
To me I like mixing together stuff that wouldn't be thought of as looking good together in this case it's..flowy dress+edgy-ish boots+yellow blazer= PERFECTION!!!( and no that's not an overstatement.)
Dress-clearance rack at Macy's, and my mom's roper boots
And last weekend I found that I have a new style crush....Emily Blunt in Wild Target!! It's a British comedy (Is just me or do you feel kinda more mature watching anything foreign?...well I do and I'm not afraid to admit it.), it's really funny, and I loved ALLLLL of her outfits in the movie!!! here's a few pictures of what she wore.(And I'll more than likely be wearing outfits like hers too)...and I want that suitcase!!!

So I need to go and pack my bag for tomorrow.

At least I'm doing better than Charlie Sheen

Well my mom has been traveling all this week with her phone(which I use as a camera) and that means no pictures for the blog. Any who I now have pictures of 3 outfits I wore this week, not including today cause I was just wearing jeans, a vest and my Dwight Shrute shirt( which is awesome)And I guess I'll explain each one.....
MONDAY:
Last weekend I watched 'My Fair Lady" and my favorite part part of the movie is the Ascot scene where everybody is dressed extravagantly in black and white, and I never wear black and white straight up without any color, cause it's just too boring. But ( you can't see it but I'm wearing a black and white polka dotted scarf as a belt) with the opposing patterns I think it makes the outfit more entertaining. And the skirt I'm wearing is black lace, and the shoes( which I bought by myself for $40 on sale and that shows that I REEEEAAALLLY love them cause never in my right mind would I buy $40 shoes! But again goes to show that I love them that much) are black and white oxford heels, and they are NOT golf shoes with heels. Jeez the questions some people ask..

<><><><>
Sweater and skirt-Target scarf/belt- I have no idea cause it's THAT old shoes-G.H Bass & Comp.
TUESDAY:
I didn't exactly wear this but I tweaked it a little bit for the better.I felt like a COMPLETE hippie in this!!!(in a good way).
And the skirt is actually a dress that's too short so I just rolled it and wrapped a belt around that. But the clear wellie sandels I was wearing kept getting caught on the skirt and ALMOST fell 3 times!(I have a tendency of falling....alot so I'm pretty proud that I didn't fall in front of a ton of people((and I've done that)). And I'm definatley wearing this outfit when I'll be in Austin for spring break.

Tank-H&M vest-Dillard's dress/skirt- Forever 21 belt- it was my mom's from the 80's
WEDNESDAY:
I'm going for the denim on denim 70's look.and since denim is blue(duh) I decided to wear my orange belt with it they're complementary colors( Yes I do remember 7th grade art class) and I wore my hair all loose and stuff to go even more 70's. But my most favorite part is the NECKLACE!!! It has the coolest knick-knacks on it!! Including a working compass ( so I won't get lost I guess) It's the coolest!!!( Just realized how dorky I sound...but still.
Shirt- Uhh it's my mom's and I'm pretty sure she got it from Talbot's   Belt- Delia's  Pants- William Rast for Target

CHEESIEST name for a store but the necklace is from ... Dressin' Gaudy

Well I'm gonna go eat some knockoff brand Ramen Noodles
 Bye.
