Long Time, No See.

While it may be a brand spanken' new year, the weather this past half-week has been gloriously warm and sunny. And I wanted to embrace this beautiful weather with open arms and put my new Christmas clothes to good use, but you know what happens when you assume.... you get a low of 38 degrees. Both the sandals and thin lace skirt I was wearing couldn't really stand up to that frigidity.

Jacket- Forever 21~T- shirt-Target~Skirt- Forever 21~The black slip is my mom's.
I would also like to state that this picture is completely by accident. I don't know what that supposed gracefulness is, because me picking up the skirt is me fixing it, and my my hair is conveniently hiding the fact that I'm spitting it out of my mouth. But I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this picture. Any who back on subject.
I saw this skirt while shopping in the mall yesterday and completely fell in love. (Sorry Joseph Gordon Levitt, you are now in 2nd place. I hope you don't take this demotion too hard.) This skirt  inspired me in so many ways. Today I went for Florence Welch, but I'm excited to go in Stevie Nicks or Lucille Ball direction.Trust me it  looks alot better in my head than how it sounds. And by the way this skirt is just lace,so by doing that opens up a lot more choices of how to wear it.Like today I just wore it with a black slip, but you can also wear a skirt like this with a dress, leggings, or another skirt . Since the lace is so thin, it's easier to layer with most items of clothing.
Up next are these SHOES. They are absolutely wonderful, and a great alternative to normal wedges or sandals. They are also really comfortable, but add height. ( I'm supermodel tall in these bad boys.)((Typing that sound a lot weirder than saying it.)) And excuse my genetically janky feet...

Urban Outfitters
The next thing I recieved is this bracelet from my sister. It's the Trinity Knot, which is a pagen symbol for Maiden, Mother, and Crone, but she chose to interpret it as Daughter, Sister, Mother. Which makes it more meaningful to me personally. And according to her I can't take the bracelet off or a puppy will die. So this bracelet is staying on for a long time.
So that's it for today, and I'll be back as soon as possible.

Reign of the 47cent Skirt.

Yeah that's right. I typed 47 cent skirt AND it has a story...
Well I was at Old Navy and I happened to wander upon the clearance rack like I usually do, and BLAM! cute skirt gotta have it! Of course I have a limited supply of moo-lah seeing that I have no job. I would have had $3 but I think my mom accidentally gave me $5 and  my cousin dared me to sing karaoke  and said she'd give me $5 if I sang a song.( I tagged along to one of her friend's birthday party full of people I didn't know) and little did you know I am quite the daredevil and did a spot-off rendition of "Jesse's Girl".  So $13 in the pocket! While sparing nothing but my dignity.
So back on topic, I glance at the price tag and it said it was $2.97, so I ran to the dressing room to try it on and as you can see, it fits.As I'm pulling out a five to pay the lady says it's 47 cents!!! And the rest is history.
Skirt- Old Navy, Shirt- Delia*s, Belt- Marshall's.
I'm wearing one of my favorite T-shirts which says "Never Judge a Book By Its Movie". Which is completely true. Because even if the movie is awesome (Harry Potter) then that means the book is 62 bajillion times better, so READ it's good for you.
This belt I'm wearing hasn't been taken off (figuratively  speaking of course) but seriously it matches EVERYTHING, and it has a hidden elastic so it fits on my waist and on my hips. Double-whammy right there.

Shoes-Delia*s,Headband-J.Crew Outlet
These two literally hurt me from head to toe. Since I have an abnormally large head and still attempt to wear headbands painlessly but fail miserably, and these little torture devices called shoes apparently want to make my toes look even uglier. So I defiantly proved that fashion is indeed pain.

P.S.- These are pictures from me at Camp Blue tree.BEST.CREW.EVER.
Me and my boyfriend Ronald Bilius Weasley...(by the way I'm a MAJOR Harry Potter fan.)

In Philadelphia, and The city had all the coolest mosaic walls.

So yeah that's me in the top right looking extremely depressed.

Is there REALLY summer clothes for 3 digit degree weather besides a swimsuit?.....no.

Just so we're clear I just got my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday, and I'm letting you know that I didn't magically turn into a squirrel over the last two months I haven't posted.

Okay it's officially "summer", although the nice weather in Texas started in March and ended in May. Now the space in between June and September that could be called summer, I choose to call "Blazing Inferno of Hell". And no amount of shorts and tank tops, can cool me off. My house is also the ONLY house on the street with no pool, and the upstairs AC unit broke....So yeah I'm reiterating Blazing Inferno of Hell.
Today I wouldn't have worn my denim button up, because of the unexeptionally hot weather, but I had this giant bruise on my arm from I don't know where, and my bra straps were showing. And while we're on that subject here's a very important fashion rule that you should always remember,
Never wear a shirt that shows your bra straps. It's tacky, but if you do have a shirt that would show your bra straps...WEAR A STRAPLESS BRA!!!!
Any who,I think my outfit was very laid-back. I'm showing some Texas pride by wearing some somewhat cowboy boots. They may have been studded and shortened, but cowboy boots none the less.
I also got them half off for $25 at Nordstom Rack. Not bad right?
And the colorful feather print of the shirt added to the laidbackness of the outfit as whole. And honestly I put on the first pair of shorts I saw, because I am NOT wearing jeans.

Well now I'm putting an end to my first "summer" blog post, and I'm going to try to go to bed late because it's SUMMMMMER!!!!!(But I highly doubt it because I have to take the this giant pain pill, with the #1 side effect being "Extreme Drowsiness")
 Until next time,

VERSUS!!

I love scarves. I have tons of them. And I have come to the conclusion that there is 2 majorly different but effective ways to wear scarves.
  New York City                                           VERSUS                                                      L.A.

When I think of New York City, I think of a chic and classic person. And When I think of someone born in L.A, I think of somebody the laid back and " Yeah I just got up but I still look awesome." type of person. A way to wear a scarf ,that to me epitimizes New York City is to mix it up. For instance, The denim button up,the distressed satchel, and buckled boots was a bit utilitarian. Then the ruffled skirt added some femininity. And last but not least the leopard print scarf comes out of nowhere yet it matches seamlessly. Lately I've really liked buttoning up the whole shirt, and tying it in a knot at the waist. But I don't know if it's just me but if I were in New York wearing this outfit, I think I would fit in nicely. But fitting in in a Texas high school....that's another story.
Now look to the picture in the right hand side, That's an "L.A". way of wearing a scarf. Now instead of the thin rectangular shape and nice fabric of the NYC scarf the L.A. scarf is squre shaped with loosely woven fabric. How I wore this outfit, I just got a T-shirt and my denim motercyle jacket (It's ironic since I don't ride motercycles.) , and paired those with a splatter painted scarf & a purple loose beret for some color. And although this isn't necesarely L.A., I always like to add some retroness. So I put on cropped jeggings and my wingtip oxfords.
Overall I would have to give the scarf victory (Oh my god that sounds lame.).... To New York City!!!!
Then again I'll have to admit, I'm a bit biased since I have a giant NYC sticker behind me.
 Well gotta go.

accckkkk!! Driver's Ed.......

So I started Driver's Ed yesterday And you know what the teacher said to me because i was working ahead??....."I'm gonna roundhouse kick you into a glacier." Seriously? Why can't school teachers be like that?? He was freaking hilarious!!

So any who I tried out  the "combining bright colors look"  I like it. But I made it where a NORMAL person can wear it!! unlike a certain someone...
Ummm yeah ...Target just happens to have bright orange high-waisted pants on hand (sarcasm) ...So I decided to do a cheap & wearable way to wear one of many bright color combanations.
DIY'ed blazer-H&M,Dress-Forever 21,Tights- Target, Belt-It's my mom's
AND these are my sister's shoes from Nordstom Rack and don't they look like Cinderella's glass slippers??? Yes, I know it's a bit naive but in the back of my mind , I kind of hoped that at some point during the day, I would be walking down the stairs, one of the shoes would "happen" to fall off and Prince Charming would pick it up and give it to me, and then HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!" (but it's 2011, so happily ever after would be for a few months or something)
But what really happened, was I was walking out of the grocery store, my shoe fell off, and my mom told me to put my damn shoe back on.(her words not mine)
So any who back to the outfit....
Yellow and blue are my favorite colors to combine, so I found my DIY'ed blazer (post about that in one of my previous posts) and cobolt tights I never wear.  The thing I was having a tough time with is something that would cover all of my necesarry parts. And I would have stuff I've worn to recently or dresses that just didn't go. And at first I didn't give this dress a 2nd glance , because I thought the stripes would make to busy, but at 10:30pm it was my last option and instead of ruining the outfit I had in mind, it actually brought it together. The reason being the neutral colors kind of tone it down, this season you can't go wrong with sripes, because it's spring's top trend. And the belt was just the nearest out of all of them, because it didn't really matter which one I wore. And I wore the shoes because of the Cinderella-ness of them.

See you next time

P.S. That's my dog Dakota in the picture above...she wouldn't move.

Yeah. I'm wearing sunglasses inside....what of it?

So I'm doing my biggest pet peeve and that would be wearing sunglasses inside, but i had to do that to emulate my Audrey Hepburn poster behind me.. so I just had to state that.
Sunglasses & jacket-Forever 21,Skirt H&M, Scarf & Roper boots are my Mom's.
(Oh yeah and not to brag or anything but I had a pretty GREAT hair day(( it's gotten me pretty excited)) any who since Audrey is my style icon I chose to wear something that had her in mind but still gave it a modern twist . But since most people at my school don't know who Audrey Hepburn is, they said I looked like Rachel Berry from Glee. But I don't mind cause I was aiming for 1960's retro, and like Monday , to keep the sweetness from going overboard, I opted for my mom's Roper boots instead of flats. But my favorate part was the cheetah print scarf under the collar of the red jacket, I don't why but i loved it. I felt like I would have fit in perfectly as an extra in Breakfast at Tiffany's ...wel I guess that was a reason why.

P.S. Don't wear sunglasses inside, you'll look like a tool.

Gone With the Wind

UUUGGGGHHHHHH I hate coming back to school after a break cause it's waking up at noonish a week straight then BLAM!!! waking up at 5:45 am. Idon't like it. I don't like it at all.OH and big news I'm taking drivers ed on April 3rd!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!I really need it since I'm a horrible driver( I had a minor parking incedent by ALMOST crashing into the light pole...but my mom is really scary when I'm driving so yeah..Well any who I guess I should start talking about the outfit I wore today...
Top- Nordtrom Rack ,Skirt-Nordstom's, Shoes-These are hand-me-down Dr. Martens but you can find them on
http://www.drmartens.com/ for $110.00 (pretty pricey if you ask me but they last. )

Okay DON'T wear this skirt while riding a bike & on a windy day because those ruffles will fly up like a bird and it's really embarrassing and you have to walk the bike home with your face downcast because NOTHING is wrong with the bike!!!...Well now that my spasm is over I'll explain the outfit..

I like how this outfit fades from girly to edgy starting out with one of spring's top patterns, watercolor floral. It's very frilly and flowy (alliteration!!) , then the skirt is still slightly girly with the cascading ruffles, but darkens with the black. Then my favorite part is the mint condition Dr. Martens that my cousin just had laying around and then gave them to me!! (Cheesy cheer) and in my opinion they make this outfit, because I prefer to add something edgy to a frillyamd girly outfit. And those boots look so much better than flats!!!

See you tomorrow.
